SAFEX INTERNATIONAL is a non-profit making organization of manufacturers of explosives and pyrotechnics, founded in 1954.
The aim of SAFEX INTERNATIONAL is to protect people and property against dangers and damage by the sharing of experience in the explosives industry.

Pooling information about accidents leads to a better understanding of the reason for accidents and can help members avoid similar events in the future.
Currently SAFEX INTERNATIONAL has 110 members in 46 countries all over the world. To qualify for membership you must be a bona fide manufacturer of explosives involved in the explosives life-cycle.

SAFEX is strictly non-political. All information is for the SAFEX-membership only. Members are obliged to notify the Secretary General of any accident or incident in their plants, transport system, or on-site if they affect safety or security. The Safex Secretariat then sends out accident reports to all members.

All Accident Reports previously reported to SAFEX INTERNATIONAL are incorporated in the SAFEX Database which is accessible to members via the SAFEX Intranet. Every three years a Congress is organized for the presentation of papers on important themes by the members. Admission to the Congress is for SAFEX members only.
