SAFEX is not a trade association but concentrates exclusively on Health, Safety, Security and Environmental (HSSE) impacts of explosives.

SAFEX appreciates that many of the jurisdictions in which it operates have adopted antitrust legislation designed to promote free enterprise. We will honour such legislation wherever we operate but will encourage competitors and relevant organisations to collaborate on HSSE issues to the benefit of all stakeholders. SAFEX will not tolerate collusive agreements or any other artificial restraints on healthy competition as result of its activities.

  • Health - Personal Protective Equipment
The disciplined use of effective Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) protects the health of employees

  • Safety - Good Housekeeping
Good housekeeping is an essential contributor to a safe working environment for explosives operators

  • Environment - Managing spills
Accidental spills can damage the environment unless they are contained by bunds and treated subsequently

  • Monitoring
The global security and control of explosives and precursors is of utmost importance to the
industry and must be closely monitored and evaluated.
