What is SAFEX International?

A Learning Organisation

SAFEX is a learning organisation. Members learn from each other as they share health, safety and environmental (HS&E) information on any topic that can prevent unwanted explosive incidents. By “incident” we mean any unplanned event or near-event that has the potential for harm. The term therefore includes “accidents”. The exchange of members’ experiences which can reduce the risks associated with the manufacture and use of explosives is an important activity. This helps members a similar events thereby protecting people, property and the environment from hazards and ensuing damage. On joining SAFEX, members commit to reporting any explosives incidents, including near-events, to SAFEX. In doing so they will highlight their conclusions, recommendations and lessons learned so that the same incident does not befall another member company.
