Networking

We have traced the logic of the SAFEX service offering from acquiring learning through  Incident Information; translating the learning into Good Practices that will either prevent incidents from occurring or minimise their consequences; to implementing good practices through the development of Explosives Competencies. The final piece is to share this and other relevant information through SAFEX's Networking efforts. Networking takes place internally within the SAFEX community  or externally among like-minded organisations with whom SAFEX collaborates.

The pages that follow focus on the following networking elements:

  • SAFEX Community
  • SAFEX Congresses
  • SAFEX Newsletters

SAFEX Community

SAFEX encourages networking within the SAFEX Community. The directories make this possible. It helps members identify other members of the Community and how to contact them. Ultimately, it will also assist members to find others who have something in common with them such as location, language, products or technologies. These are all networking triggers.

SAFEX Congresses

Historically our Congresses have been the highlight of the SAFEX calendar. They are organised every 3 years in a different European venue as SAFEX Members find Europe most accessible when travelling from different parts of the world. The number of activities during Congresses takes up the best part of a week. Over and above these activities, SAFEX regards the network opportunities offered by the Congresses as vital. Until recently the SAFEX Congresses were closed to non-members. The introduction of an Open Day has extended our ability to network outside the SAFEX community.

SAFEX Newsletter

It is issued quarterly and distributed to both the SAFEX community and any outsiders who may be interested. What started as a newsletter with items of interest for SAFEX members only has become a journal that tries to cater for a variety of subjects that may be of interest to the explosives industry at large. Readers from within and outside SAFEX are encouraged to contribute articles on any subject in the SAFEX domain i.e. could promote the HSSE performance of our industry.
